Today I finally got my hands on the excellent 1/35 Dragon King Tiger Henschel Turret with Zimmermit.
I'd quite like to paint it in the the winter whitewash scheme found in Hungary in 1944.
However, would it be best to paint the model in German Grey or in the 3 colour camo scheme before applying the whitewash?
Many thanks in advance!

Purely depends on what year you are trying to represent. Are you going for Stalingrad '42 - '43? Or the Ardennes Offensive '44?

Hi
Considering the time period the King Tiger was produced in it would not have had "German grey" as a camo colouring under the whitewash or otherwise. Phased out by this time of the war as an applied colour.
(By the way it was also produced too late in the war to have appeared at Stalingrad)

Its from Budapest 1944, so the 3 tone camo is the best bet for underneath the whitewash?
