Does anyone know of a source in the uk for wooden bases to display a model? Been on some trophy websites but they are a tad expensive.

Thanks

Hi Krieg-Hammer!

The last time I used a cutting board usually used in the kitchen.
You will find different type of woods at your local department store.
Take a look at this link and see what I mean.

I found oak, teak and bamboo cutting boards for just an one Euro in bargin basement.
Just an idea.

Best regards

Try this, works for me. I go to my local trophy store and purchase the old wood plaques that they reset on new ones. They usually have about four screw holes in them, but they get covered up with the ground work. I have two solid walnut bases (1.5" thick) with a fanncy scroll job on the top edge at the cost of five bucks each. Otherwise they toss them out. Youl'd be amazed at the sizes and shapes you can find for next to nothing. And you're recycling too.

Rob,

I have two places that may prove useful for you:

http://www.just-bases.co.uk/

If I need custom sizes I get my bases from here- great quality, good finishing, fast service and good prices.

This German site also does a whole load of different bases for models, figures, diorams etc:

http://www.sockelshop.de/catalog/index.php?language=en&osCsid=439711d00ac046158fb53499b9c30a03

(Section on the left under 'Categories.') I get a good lot of stuff from here and the selection and service is top-notch.

Good luck.
