Hello Guys!
I have this model and i think im going to start it soon, but i couldnt find any pics or informations.
I know it is based on the British Bantam Jeep, but nothing else.
Oh,and does anyone know what can be added or replaced on the kit?
For sure some parts on the engine, but can anyone name anything else?

Kind regards,Sven.

The Bantam Jeep was American. Both Britian and Russia received them through Lend-Lease when the USA decided to use the Willys design. I don't believe the Russians modified them.

The design of the Russian GAZ 64 was influenced by the Bantam. I have read that it's design was actually based on photos and information sent from the USA prior to their receiving the Bantam. It used Russian mechanical components, which were mainly based on Russian license built Model A Fords parts.

Some confusian may be caused by the fact that the American company was founded in 1929 as the American Austin Car Company. It was associated with the Austin Motor Company of Britian and made a US version of the Austin 7. The American company went bankrupt in 1934. The company was reorganized in 1935 as the American Bantam Company which had no formal connection to the Austin Company, although some kind of informal relationsip continued.

Therefore there is a British connection to the developemrnt of the Jeep.
