I tumbled across a modeler's website that shows his newest achievement : a fully scratchbuilt LAV25 on 1/16 th scale. Probably the most awesome model I ever saw. I found it yesterday, and I still get shivers when I think of it. I posted a post in the scratchbuilding forum., but it seems to be overlooked by most.
Sorry to bugger you with this in the Armor forum, but this is a MUST SEE !!!
Better be seated and get a stiff drink first. It could be you never want to try your hand at modeling any more after you've seen this... !

Wow... These models are GREAT!!!
But I would not be myself if I don't point one mistake in LAV-25 In the interior, there is an Army cap hanging on the mesh screen. Marines cap would be much more appropiate. But hey, there is an AK-47 there as well, so the hell... why not?!

Pawel

Talal has also scratchbuilt a 1/16 M1A1 and M2 Bradley, and had scratchbuilt 1/35 versions of the HMMTT and Scud launcher before the kits were available. I've known him for 15 years or so and he's not only a great modeler but a really nice guy. He produced a number of 1/32 aircraft accessories and 1/35 armor accessories under the label of TAC Scale Dynamics.

Talal either sold his molds or just stopped production a few years ago. Squadron still has one of his ejection seats and Greatmodels has a few items left. Check their sites and search for TAC Scale Dynamics.

Talal does contract work for the Army lab in Natick, Mass. Some of his work has been used to test radar reflectance of vehicle designs. At least that's the work he talks about. So, yes, he's in the right line of work.

CAM Decals offer now some of his old stuff. But the quality is supposedly not as good as it was when Talal was molding it himself.
I used CAM Decals resin wheels for M923A1 truck - I heard that these were earlier TAC Scale product.

Awesome work, really stands out.
If there were more nominations of other great work like this, I would have to go for Twig´s Tiger in 1/35. Excellent .... now we just have to talk him into painting it!!
