G'day,
Im in the planing phase of a Baghdad dio. Will be set in late 05 early 06. There was a cav unit runing out of the green zone when I was over there that we had a few social outings with ( A Drag race between an ASLAV and a Brad was interesting). Ive lost all my pics from back then. I want to base the dio around a brad and Hmmwv. What models of brad M2A?? and HMMVW were running round at that time and aditional fitings... ie. blast shields, ecm etc. I rember a few of the home made rhino's appearing at the time. Any help and pics will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Aaron

'05 - '06 was in the transition period for vehicles. The Brad could have been an M2A2 or an M2A3. The HMMWV was most likely an M1114. It is almost impossible to say what types they were without a picture since there were/are so many vehicle types with all sorts of stuff on them running around Iraq.
By the way, who won the drag race?

Was a rather one sided contest mate... ASLAV by pretty much half the length of the crossed swords

That is what I figured. The Bradley is not a speed demon by any stretch.

In '05-'06 most of the M1114s would have had the interim Frag 4 spaced armor on the doors. Voyager's PEA232 USMC M1114 Spaced Armor upgrade fits the bill rather nicely. Don't worry about the USMC part, these were used extensively by the Army as well.
