Hi guys. I have an Iwata HP-SB airbrush with the side color cup. I havent used it in a few years. I took it apart and soaked it in Badger Airbrush Cleaner for a few days, cleaned it and reassembled it. When i went to blow some cleaner through it i experience some problems. Air comes through the nozzle but no cleaner. If i cover the nozzle i do get back flow of air into the color cup. I checked to see if the needle was secure and it is. It also does move back when i move the trigger. I have no idea what is wrong. Any ideas? Thanks guys.

Forgive me if this sounds silly but I am not familiar with iwata brushes. Is it possible that there is an obstruction where the side cup meets the body if the brush -or- within the part of the side cup that attaches to the body of the brush?

Hi Ian. I dont think so because when i cover the front of the airbrush i get airflow back into the cup. Ive stripped this thing down, cleaned it and soaked it more times then i can count so i decided to send it in the Iwata for repair. Thanks

hey
you should try running a pipe cleaner through the nozzle and the cup pipe,
from what you say, it sounds like either one of them is clogged. these parts can get so clogged that just soaking them in cleaner won't do the trick/
