I finally finished the HB ZTZ 99B !!! Heres a few pics of it....

I used about half of the Voyager detail set, but it isn't really needed. The kit details are really impressive. I spent a couple weeks painting and masking the digital scheme, and it was completely worth it. The model portrayed a tank during the 2009 PLA parade, so I kept weathering to a minmum.

That digital camo scheme looks pretty intimidating to me, but you did a fine job on it. Great looking tank. Now, if we can just get someone to cast us some PLA crewmen for these nice kits.

Russ- I took some pics of the progress, but all I did was spray "patches" of the light tan, then cut the pattern out of the provided diagram, laminate it over blue masking tape..then stick that over the patch! The trouble showed up when I hit the very dk green...that took 3 days of masking to "box "it in. I used 1/-8 th automotive tape for the major masking

I still want to spray some clear on it , then apply a thin black wash to pull the rivet detail....

Just an outstanding camo paint job. I concur that a black wash will both pop out those details, and slightly tone down the pristine paint job.

Jeff- I have to congratulate you on this- stellar work. The whitewall tyres are nice too! Should look even better after a wash.

Thanks everyone for the great comments. The ZTZ will be going back under the gun today for a dose of clear, should I do a complete black wash , or just pin wash? Guess a complete wash would help tone it down!
