Until now I have used Tamiya XF-60 Dark Yellow for the early field jackets on US Soldiers. Now, since Tamiya has disappeared in the uS I'm stuck. Can anyone recommend a good replacement, either enamel or acrylic (I'm fine with either.)?
Just please, no Vallejo or Andrea, I hate those darned squeeze bottles, you wind up wasting more paint than you use.

Hi,
Check out TIm Streeters article on uniform colors on his website
http://www.usarmymodels.com/guidetopainting.html
To show color variations I use Polyscale Mud or aged concrete in place of the Tamiya Dark Yellow. I've seen people use ModelMaster Sand, or Gulf Armor Sand for a really faded look.

Thanks, not really a fan of polyscale either so I guess I'll have to custom mix my own. I had hoped that Gunze Sankyo or someone had the actual color.

Hi
I ften wonder after seing model manufacturers recomending Dark Yellow for WW2 US jackets, Was it realy dark yellow, every example of the real thing that I have seen its always been a pale green, where they yellow and just faded to green over time. As a colour dark yellow just sounds so wrong as they would stand out.
Surly it would some sort of green.
