Before, presenting News from AFV Club & HobbyFan was a relatively simple process. The company sent us updates and we posted them. Unfortunately, due to personnel changes at the company, it''s no longer that simple.

This report was compiled with the invaluable work of Darren Baker.

My apologies for the VERY INCOMPLETE nature of this Report. However, this is somewhat mitigated by the fact that when any company is obviously not tremendously interested in presenting its products to its future customers, then who are we to question their business practices?

Thanks for the report, Darren + Jim. Looks like they have some interesting releases coming soon, especially the Humvee conversions.

Its a shame that getting news from them is now more difficult, especially since you guys are the only source for AFV club news since they're website if terrible to use.

Nice looking Valentine Crew, thanks Darren.

Al

BTW anyone know who supplies their HobbyFan kits in the UK? It's OK White Ensigns do them.

google is your friend...

did a google image search on HF070 - HMMWV RECON II (CONVERSION KIT) FOR ACADEMY HUMMER and it came back with both conversions (069).

One is like the Mig and Italeri canvas kits; the other is like the Ranger RSOV with a mk 19 in a frame over the body of the vehicle. Both look attractive (if that is the correct word), and well done conversions. Not for me, maybe for you?

Someone with more computer knowledge than myself may post the images here...

Just why HF decided to make these conversions for Academy Humvees instead of much superior Tamiya ones?... Size differences between these kits mean that conversions designed for one don't work with the other.

Jim

It is a shame about their "contact". Hope it improves as AFV has a lot to offer...it is a shame to be in the dark!!
