You may see this as a not so good model cause it's my first time to build one. This model is the M966 TOW 1/35th scale by Academy. You may notice that the guy on the TOW is missing. I'll add him up when I start doing the ODS dio of this one.

Note: You may notice that in a few days, the pic will no longer be there. It means I have completed the dio!

Shonen Red
For your first AFV it came out well. Overall very nice. Two things I would consider. If it is 'in theater' I would add some pastel weathering or a light coat of tamiya dust.
Second thing is for the next time you do the washes I (personally) would mix a little less black in the wash. It came out a bit 'strong' on this one.

Hehehehe, thanks! For weathering, I use a tool called "Gundam Marker" that I found lying here. It came in 3 sizes, the biggest one with a flat head is for painting/highlighting areas. The medium one (which I used in the dio) has a head like a pointed pentel pen which is primarily for weathering. The small one is for detailing.
The bad thing is, the medium size has only a single color (black) which I used on the kit.

Very nice work thus far Shonen. I am not one for modern AFV's, but you are doing a fine job. I agree with slodder regarding the weathering, but it is easily corrected if need be. I am sure all will come togther once you get the dio together.
Cheers

For me this looks fine and an excellent first time model. Definately looks the part.
2 things Im not sure about though .... are the use of both exhausts.. rear and bonnet and the color of the wheel hubs and tow being black. Have you used any reference or just do what i do ... paint first and then look at for reference afterwards? I built Academy´s hummer as well without the tow and I remeber that not all exhaust configurations were like this!
Are you not going to use any decals?
One thing I was very impressed by was you side mirrors. What have you used to replicate them. They look perfect!

Thanks! When I've don this kit, I was inspired on the MOD Desert Combat for Battlefield 1942. I don't have much of the reference. Bad thing with this kit, I doesn't have any decals!
The side mirror was done by applying Bare Metal Foil. Pretty hard to apply though.

Very nice work comrade! Definitely better than my first Humvee. I especially like the side mirrors
A little more weathering with pastel dust will give it a more "used" look. Chalk pastels are available at National Bookstore Glorietta.
