I'm trying to paint some US Marines, modern era so i need a color that is close to the tan of their vests and gear. Any one who can help.

Hi Julian,
The color is called 'Coyote Brown', and I mix it using the following Vallejo colors:
826 Medium Brown...30-40%
872 Field Drab...30-40%
847 Dark Sand...10%
929 Light Brown...5-10%
Model Air Hemp...5-10%
Shade with Burnt Umber, highlight with lighter versions of the base color & sand.

Thanks for the help Rod. I may have to get these online or try to get the closest thing to it i can because my local shop doesn't carry that paint.

I have used humbrol Matt 83. You can lighten it with a touch of white to make it look faded.

I don't know if you need this much help with your figures, but I've turned to this KitMaker article for help with my camo figures. Then again, I'm a figure-amateur, so I need all the help I can get!

Thanks Guys. Robby Im very new to modeling myself but Im using a marpat decal sheet. I do plan on doing some older period stuff so that like will end up being helpful.

A good, out-of-the-bottle match for USMC Coyote Brown is Testors Model Master Field Drab.
