Dear All
After a lot of trails and error
I finish this duffle bag from PAM with ACU using the tutorial found on Alpine website.
Please i am waiting for your critics and comments.
It is not the best ACU paint job but i want to improve it
Cheers
Seb

Nice work Seb, the colours seem to be spot on so far.
So now some comments on it.
UCP is actually made up of 3 colours: the two you have painted and a second tan/brown colour. The exact shades vary depending on the manufacturer of the item and the wear the pattern is subjected to. As a result I would suggest finding a good photo of the patterna nd matching your colours to that.
Additionally, the pattern is very pixelated in real life, so it might be easier to take a very fine brush (00 or 000) and add create the pattern as a series of small dots to mimic the real pattern.
Finally, look for a blog called perspective(s) in miniature where you'll find an excellent step by step on painting UCP in 35th scale. Sorry I cant give you a link since I am at work.
You've made a great start and I look forward to seeing more!

Thatts the blog I was talking about.
The third colour is only mentioned in the image labelled "painting guide" where the three colours are dark grey, medium grey and base colour. However in the SBS with the helmet he does only use 2 colours which can be a bit confusing.
However UCP in reality has three colours which are not particularly distinct from each other. See here:
However in this scale 2 colours can be used since the size makes them hard to tell apart, so it is up to you whether you would like to add the third colour or not.
Sorry for the confusion and hope this clears things up a bit
Have you looked at UCP decals? They have a good pattern on them but I have yet to use them.

Outstanding effort. You have nerves of steel. One thing that would seem to add a lot to the realism, is a few washes to give the bag a slightly worn look.

Unfortunately I have not seen any other SBS guides for UCP. I have only seen other peoples attempts at it. There have been a couple on this site as well, I think Ben Kahn painted some very good figures with just two colours.
I used three colours when painting my figures for my Abrams diorama, but that was based on Calvins blog so won't really be that helpful.
I think you can use the same colours you have already used and add a third colour which is a mix of the lighter colour and some tan/buff and mixed to resemble the real pattern.

Thats a really clever idea seb! I think that if the size of the smallest squares is close to the real pattern then it would turn out very well.
The thing to remember is that the pattern is not made up of small patches of the two top colours but is actually continuous ribbons forming the pixelated pattern. I.e. all patches of one colour are connected, but look separate when another colour overlaps them. Make sense?
Good luck and let us know how the trials goes!
