hey guys it's actually been a couple of years since i've been able to work on this model. job hunting and a new kid tend to eat up all of your free time. so since it's been a while i figured that i'd start over. the model i have is the itereli 1/35 avenger missile system. the humvee itself is a great model minus the missing motor in the able to be opened engine bay.

the avenger turret is a good representation of the avenger in the 80's on into the late 90's. starting in '99 they started swapping out the ecu/ppu (all of the boxes on the backside of the turret) to the one that is on it today. so that area would have to be remodeled of you wanted to make an avenger that was representative after '99.

now the interior of the avenger is appalling. is all it has is a basic chair, a bad representation of what i call the "dashboard" area where all of the controls are, and that's just about it. so i'm working on redoing the inside of the avenger to accurize it to what i know is really in there.(i was a 27T [now a 94T]avenger repairer when i was in the army) i have a pretty good bank of reference pics of the outside, and a few scant interior shots to go on. ten plus years has faded the memory a bit. but there is a lot that i'm still building up from memory. if any one has good shots of the inside, especially the controls for the ecu/ppu which are rigght behind the operators left shoulder, let me know. man i really shouldn't have gotten rid of my manuals.

the chair is a bucket seat out of an old car model that i have been cannibalizing for spare parts wrapped in the aluminum foil from a cigarette pack. the foil has a thread like pattern that looks good for canvas at this scale. ive also scratched a sight reticle, the azimuth drive motor, the ace( green box mounted on the right side at foot level. made from an old part off of a circuit board), and the main controls located on the "dashboard" area.i'm also planning on doing the inside of the missile pod up.

i would love to see completed models that you guys have done, any reference you might have, and any after market parts that i could use to fix this up better with links to said parts. so let me know what you think so far and any suggestions that you might have.

i heard that there is a photo etch set for this some where does anyone know who makes it or where i might be able to get it???? thanks for any info.

thanks frenchy!!! that is an amazing PE set! i'll have to get one of those with my next paycheck. it'll make the outside look amazing. but i'll still have to build up the inside myself. oh well that's what makes model building such fun.
