They are called "smoke dischargers". Did you make them yourself or use a commercial product?
I was most amazed by the picture of the tracks! They look so real! I love how you made the lights work. (For those who don't know - SMD means Surface-Mount Devices - they are tiny and meant to be mounted directly onto printed circuit board).
This is so obviously a work of love!

Wow. Nice details. The German headlight guards look great. That mg looks different than the one I've usually seen on German M113s.

Very very nice work.
A bit of info - the m113 could not do a true neutral steer (i.e. one track moves in reverse while the other moves in forward direction). For a m113 to neutral steer, you would lock one track, and power the other. It was almost never done, as you had to use a set of levers that were difficult (and awkward) to activate. These levers were different than the standard laterals. We lost a trooper during training who used them while going too fast. The track flipped over (a fast rollover), and pinned him between the ground and the track.
I was stationed in Germany during the 80's (3/8 cav, 8th ID), and was a TC on the 113. I've seen quite a few of the German ones. I'm looking forward to seeing yours painted.

The part of this build that sticks out to me is how you have managed to add remote control but still the model looks right as a static model, very well done.
