Just to prove that I do actually build stuff and not just ask questions, here are a couple of in-progress shots of my DML M1A2 SEP with Legends TUSK II set

I have to ask, how did you create the optics behind the glass on the site system?

Hi Cory,

I picked up some metallic confetti from Michael's Crafts, punched out the appropriate sized circles with a Waldron punch set, brushed on a light coat of Future floor polish to the back side of the kit transparancy, and then applied the circles. After the initial coat of Future dried, I applied a second coat from behind to assure the circles were fixed in place, then painted the back side of the transparancy with Tamiya Smoke. I also painted the inside of the housing with MM Aircraft Interior Black.

Well done, Chuck!

A Gunner's Primary Sight (GPS) on a M1A1, which I think is configured the same on an M1A2 SEP, but I could be wrong (image from PrimePortal);

There is an image on Prime Portal under the Damaged M1 Abrams folder that shows the GPS on an M1A2 SEP, but I didn't want to show it here out of repsect to the deceased crewmembers.

I'm working on one of these myself. I'll have to try that technique with the optics.

Thanks, Jeff; that is actually the image I used as a guide, as well as personal observation of Abrams' that I have inspected that have came through our port. I also have added the greenish rectangular shape uner the circles, but it doesn't show up as well in the photo.

In other details, I painted the inside of the center caps on the road wheels with Tamiya Smoke; the effect is actually better in person than in the picture...the weathering makes it appear if they are actually painted solid gray. On a few of the caps I have cleaned the weathering off to make it look like the crew has cleaned it off to check the oil level; the effect is pretty cool.
