All,
Looking for accurate dimensions of 105mm NATO ammo. HE, HESH, APDS, APDSFS-T shells and their cartridges plus the wooden boxes they would have been shipped in.
Length, location of driving bands, shapes, sizes of sabots, any and everything if you have it.
I have tried Armoured Acorn and Barry doesn't have info on the 105mm rounds.
You can post it here or email me at:

Ta, much,

Guns, I presume, not howitzers? Also, what era? There were a number of changes in the rounds and packaging between 1960 and ~2000.
The place to start would be a 1960 TM titled Artillery Ammunition, TM 9-1300-203. At about that time the Army changed how their TMs were numbered. You might actually be looking for a TM 9-1300- 251-20 or TM 43-0001-28. If you want later info. You could also check for M60 series tank TMs (-10 or -12) as they include an ammunition section in them.

Hi Paul,
we use at work lots of Bundeswehr and US wooden ammo boxes to carry our parts around. So far, I saw 105 mm tank ammo, 4.2 in. M30 mortar, 105mm semifixed shell for M101 howitzer and much more. I think I must have some other boxes in my cellar.
I report in at monday.
Cheers

Shoot me a PM, I have photos of 105mm tank ammo from one of our range shoots, including wooden crates.

The ammo for the 105mm L7 is what I'm looking for. I have the VLS ammo set to review and I'm looking to check the dimensions.

Ooo! I may just have an M60 "dash 10" in the library! Thanks! I don't think I have the Amunition TM, though. Would it have the 105mm tank ammo in it?
Thanks, buddy!

UPDATE: I just checked my 1960 Artillery Ammunition TM and it does not cover 105mm gun ammo.

Hi Paul,
I took measurements of a Bundeswehr 105mm tank ammo box.
The box measures 943mm by 353mm by 160mm outside.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the help.
It's not helping that the VLS set doesn't explicitly state exactly what rounds are supposed to be packed in the box...
