Hi,
I am building a dragon Stug III F/8 that will have a winter white washcoat. But I would like the underlying coat to be gray. I have seen models built this way, but is this historically correct? Am I right that a dark yellow base is what was employed?

Panzer gray base coat is the accurate way to go. Even some G's were produced in late 1942 before the switch over to dunkelgelb in Feb '43, so all Fs and F/8s (production run between March and Sept '42) would've gotten the gray treatment...so the only reason to see an F/8 in dunkelgelb would be if it was an in-service example post switch-over and had been repainted in the field or at a factory refit.

So I went with Panzer Gray as the base coat. Then a whitewash treatment, and some minimal chipping via hairspray technique. I plan to do an raw umbra wash and some pigments on the tracks next. This is my first tank. What do you think and what could I do to improve it?
