Hi to all.

I have begun with a new project. This is a kit of Planet models. It is a resin model about a transformation of a Opel Blitz. The kit is very good, although he resin is fragile. Perhaps the unique inconvenient.

The first pictures.

Regards.

Pedro.

@PedroA - Pedro,

Oh! Nice subject, one that I am interested in adding to my stash as part of a support vehicle for a hypothetical panzer wargame army I'll be putting together, so I'll be following your build.

Looks like you've modified the fuel tank wheel radius? Are you backdating this vehicle? You've also added your own canvas window panel.

Hi Pedro

This kit looks like its pretty good, & not a common subject which makes it more interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing what magic you render on it

Hi Pedro,

Good choice, I like it, the fuel tanker trucks are really nice, and the blitz versions have an special touch.

I'm waiting your next posts.

Best Regards.

Daniel, Neil, Eddy and Joaquin, thanks for the comments.
A new step. I think the model is almost ready to paint.
Yes Eddy, I have made some modifications in the model (canvas window panel). Seeing original pictures, the fuel tank wheel radius was big.

Hi Pedro

Thats a great link with a lot of good pictures of Kfz 385, I saw the one you are modelling, a very unusual camouflage

And thanks for the link to the soviet armoured train. Its something I have been thinking about. I have built some of the UMmt self propelled armoured cars and they are worlds better than the Armageddon kit, though they are still not easy kits. I'll get the half BP-44 built then see what I feel like tackling next.

Great progress on your build, it will be an eyecatcher

cheers
Neil

@PedroA - Pedro,

This is turning out to be a most unusual but interesting vehicle. Thanks for posting the link as this helps in conveying the idea behind the wooden structure you've built and placed on the fuel truck. There appears to be a fuel vent tube on top of the fuel tank opposite side of the ladders in the photographs. From your build photos I can't tell if you've added this feature to your model? Although not supplied in the kit box will you also be adding the fuel tank trailer too?

You did an excellent job on the step ladders, perhaps you could let us know how you went about soldering them together? Did you make a fixture to hold the pieces together for soldering them?

Looks like your ready for painting? keep up the good work Pedro,
-Eddy

Thanks for the comments.

The truck is finished. Now I'm painting the house.
Eddy, Perhaps we can to see a fuel vent tube on top of the fuel tank but I'm not sure. In the real model I have not seen any evidence about this. At first, I thought to make the fuel tank trailer but finally I decided to make only the truck.
In my blog, there is a small step about soldering the step ladders. In this, the pictures are big.

Hi Pedro

I like the nice subtle paint scheme and weathering on this fuel truck. The camouflage cottage on top is going to make it really different. Are you going to put it on a base ? I'd keep a printed picture of the real thing nearby, as if you didn't have the proof, nobody would believe it.

cheers

No Neil. It will be without base.

The truck with the house.

@PedroA – Pedro,

I’m late to this forum during this time and am missing much. You’ve done a super job on the fuel truck. The camouflage and weathering are true to scale. Neil, aka, ‘Korpse’ has the right idea! How about crating a black and white photograph of your build and place it next to the black and white photograph of the real vehicle and set them both behind your build? That would look super!

It’s a bit late now but this is what I was referring to when I mentioned the fuel vent tube. I don’t know either if this tube, outlined above in the photograph, would be a vent tube for the fuel tank?

I will have to go and visit your web page for the soldering step. Thanks for posting and sharing your builds and techniques.

Happy modeling,
-Eddy

As always, a super job on a quite unique subject, Pedro. The camouflage is just wonderful, in an understated way. I presume that you applied it with an airbrush?

Cheers,
Jan

After an inactivity time for laboral causes, finally I have finished this model. Thanks to Ilian because the mesh roof of the house was wrong. I have modified this part.

Eddy. I didn't see this fuel vent tube. Perhaps only this picture has this tube.
Jan. Yes, the camouflage was applied it with an airbrush

@PedroA – Pedro,

I know, I know I’m a bit late in my reply but better late than never! Nice finish, the reworked roof and the entire house must have taken quite some time to do and worth every moment spent. I like the weathering along the bottom of the vehicle especially on the wheels and rims gives it a heavy in service look to it.

Happy Modeling,
~ Eddy

Well Andrij.

When I saw the pictures in your blog, I decided to begin this model who was a present of a friend. Thanks for posting all the pictures about this model. I think they are very useful for modellers that want to make an exclusive model.

Regards. Pedro.
