Thanks for the pics Sed. The 1/16th Tiger I that took best in show was done by a very good friend and probably one of the best modellers I know. His name is Dano Capuano, and he also did thet Winter Tiger I, Spring Cleaning Dio, and The Fall of The Das Reich dios. He is definately one modeller to keep an eye on, for he never competed in a model show before this, but took home 2 best in show's. You can see his work at www.ww2modelmaker.com

SEDimmick,
thanks for sharing. Don't worry about the quality of the pics. I don't think they deserve to receive the title crappy .... I've seen worse pictures on the web last week.
Thanks for sharing again !

I attended the show. Very impressive display of kits. I did not catch the name of the speaker at the painting & finishing seminar at 1 o'clock. Can any one help? He was a good speaker, very knowledgeable and even had time for hands on demonstration. Also, is there a list of vendors who were there?

FWIW,
AMPS East 2003 was Dano's "first' entry into the contest arena. A few hours ago (yes, I had to come all the way back to California and get my head back together) Dano walked away having entered as a "beginer" and went home as a "Master".
I too got another silver and will be improving on more details courtisy of Dano and AMPS LA. I also had an excellent discussion with a conversion to the Hold-n-Fold - absolutely! More to come on that later on the site.
Anyway, just wanted to tahank all the AMPST CT guys for an excellent show.

Guys,
The speaker on painting and finishing should have been Adam Wilder. I wanted to go to his seminar, but was to busy playing chief bean counter and all
Dave, you're converting from the etch mate? Wow....
Cheers

Olaf,
Well that depends............. :-)
No one has ever paid me for a comment on either unit, and my 'slave' duties were because Gerry and his lovely wife, picked me up afrom Newark for the event.
As for the Etch Mate vs. Hold n Fold, both are great products. there are advantages and limitations in both, but for large items, I use my EM and now I have that lil 2" HnF.
Love it when companies upgrade and improve!
