Gents,All of the kits I've built so far have had a paint list somewhere in the instructions telling you what paints to use on what parts. As I get all my stuff on-line,is there any way that I can find out what colors are recomended for a kit before I order so I can get everything at once and not place two orders and have to pay shipping twice Thanks,Jeff

Excellent question!
I'm afraid I don't have an answer to it, though. I know there is a site that has some scans of some Tamiya kits. Perhaps someone will chime in an provide it. As for the other manufacturers, I don't know. But it's a great idea.
I never gave it much thought, however, because generally, the paints don't change much from 1 kit to another. WHen I was starting out and buying stuff from my LHS, I always opened the box at the checkout to find out what paints I needed.
Years ago, either Monogram or Revell used to print the color requirements on the side of the box. WIsh they still did. PErhaps people could scan that part of the instructions when doing a review.
SOrry I couldnt' be of more help.

Jeff- try this website:
http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10153147
If you go to the above page you'll see, if you scroll down a little, that there are pictures of the instructions and the painting guide. This website does this for a lot of models- so you can see the paint scheme and relevant paints beforehand.
I hope this helps a bit.

I eyeball it. I've only been off once and that a very minor difference. This also saves me on paint, because I can go to my local hardware store and get a quart sample in the color I need.

I think if you just post here on the forums what kit you are thinking of buying someone will already have it and can tell you what are the needed paints.
