Hi guys,

Again this is an older dio I did a while back.I saw a photo of this checkpoint somewhere on the netFrom what the MP's wrote on the wall there had to be a highway on the other side of the hill. The M113's are Academy and the figures are a mix of Dragon,Trumpeter and spare parts.

This dio is amazingly awesome and wish I had the talent you have to do such a dio. It has changed my thinking of every dio has to be from a video or picture that was used in the middle east like Iraq or Afghanistan. That's why I haven't tried because I want to do my best to do a accurate dio. But this has changed my thinking and do a dio that uses kits that are accurate for that time frame and I don't have to copy a picture or video.

Happy Modeling
William DeCicco

PS: Thanks for inspiring me to think out of the box and not to stress the reality of coping everything exactly from real life.

Thanks Simon,

I never looked at it that way.Just to ease your mind, when I did it I had in mind that he was actually welcoming the K9 companionship.I guess everything is in the eye of the beholder.

Hi William,
Thank you for the comment. You may be being too hard on yourself. It really all depends on what you want to accomplish with a dio. Many modelers are very picky about the acuracey of their subject and I totally admire them for that.Personally I do it all just for the enjoyment.I try to keep things as acurate as I can to what my knowledge will let me,but there are a lot of other members out there that certainly are better informed.I always say"who's your audience".If you plan to enter into a competion the details are much more important. If ,like me,it's mainly family and friends that see my work they enjoy it.None of them are going to say that machine gun or fuel can isn't right.
If you have choosen this for a hobby, make it a hobby for relaxation and try to keep as stress free as possible.

This is epically awesome, with the lack we have of proper modern figures, please share how you rounded these up.

Simply amazing level of detail on this one. Everything looks to be exactly where it should be and the correct color. That's quite a fence. I think it is the same type they used in WWII concentration camps. This has inspired me to scale down my Vietnam dio.
