Alright Dave!

Glad you've finally taken the wrapper off the box and started cutting sprues...

You know, now that you've turned to the "dark side," if you don't make steady progress, Frau Blucher will have to start crackin' her whip

Seriously, though, I haven't had any luck trying to pin down the barrel type on ol' #112.

In the absence of any other information (chasis number, production date, or other photos), maybe you can check your references and make a count on the barrel types of the other Jagdpanthers in 1st company. I would suspect that they were all delivered more or less at the same time which suggests a narrow production window which further suggests significant commonality in their features.

It might turn out that you can ID both types of barrels on the company's vehicles, in which case I'd say you're good to go with the kit barrel.

For anyone interested, here's the link to our club's group-build page with photos of our Panthers in-progress:

See ya later,

A little lady once told me "once you go German you never go back!"

It's looking real good Dave, keep it up.

Scott,

It's good to see ya posting here, buddy!

Hey, we might have to start Dave on some armor-regression therapy to wean him off all this modern armor stuff and get him building some "real" German tanks...

You know, we start him off with a Leo II, then work backwards through the Leo I and eventually we'll have him building some real cats like Tigers and Panthers!

That or we let him pick the next club group-build and he winds up converting all of us to building tanks with laser range-finders and turbine engines...

Have a great armor model-building day!

I'm all for Dave and another club member picking the next club build and we all tackle a modern beast. Although, I have a feeling once he really sinks his teeth into the Jagpanther, the seed will be planted and Dave will start oozing true German Armor.

A note to Dave, I too have limited PE experience and have struggled with some of those small and, all too often, "airborne" parts but I already have used 10 times as much brass on my Panther G than any of my previous projects and really feel good about that. The Alliance Model Works stuff is awesome (THANKS BRIAN), and with the addition of a few new tools on my bench which has made working with the brass so much easier and enjoyable. Keep plugging on that Jagpanther because it's one of the coolest vehicles ever. IT"S WW2 GERMAN!!!!

ooooo! An M48 Vietnam would really be fun or a T55 (I would do a syrian version) This could be a lot of fun. For now I'm gonna work on my Panther. Shoot a pic of the T62 for me, would love to see it and plug away on the Jagdpather.
