Currently working on this gem of a kit from Vulcan Models of the Zundapp KS800 with Steib nr28 Sidecar. Painted it up as a vehicle in civilian colors commandeered for Wehrmacht service. Not painted over yet. Got Civilian Licenseplates from a fellow modeler and it is actually a riddle why Vulcan didn't include them in the first place since photo's of these vehicles not yet painted over are abundant.
The paintjob itself was my hardest I have ever done. And the vehicle fought me every step of the way. This is more or less the in between stage .Base paintjob is finished. Still have to add several parts like exhausts and suchand do a lot of detailpainting but this gives you a good idea of the direction I'm heading in.
First a pic on which the paintjob of the sidecar is based. The rest of the motor is based on pictures of survivors and restored vehicles.
And here are the pics of my work so far:
As usual looking forward to your feedback.

As a hack owner myself, I like it.
That paintjob does indeed look tedious, but it came out well.
I'd suggest for anyone doing anything similar to use silver striping for HO scale locomotives. It wouldn't necessarily look any better than what you've done, but would probably save a lot of time and effort.

@ Robert
To tell you the truth I did not even know that kind of stuff existed. And I have thought and thought on how I should do it.. And eventually thought of a way and went with it. The stripes on the frame were handpainted but that you can see. Glad you like the result. Really pleased with the compliments.
@ Pat
Thanks for the kind words. Really appreciated. And yes it will be part of a bigger scene but only just. Base plate is around the same size as the coaster I photographed it on. Possibly even smaller and will hold the motorcycle and two figures from Miniart. With a little bit of groundworks.

Here are the pics
As always looking forward to any feedback.

Outstanding. I think it's very well done and a welcome change of pace. Please don't put it in a dio with a Tiger or Panther!

First thanks for taking the time to reply. And thanks for the kind words. Really appreciated. Don't worry about it being featured next to a Tiger or Panther. I'm not a big fan of either vehicle and the base is too small for that. As the base it currently sits on will also be the final base.; With two figures
