What is the large flat tool with handles on the side of the hull. Is it a wood saw?
Just need to know how to paint it, Tanks Steve

I can't guarantee that its not something else - but it looks like a saw to me.
check this out - http://www.area-g.net/gallery/image/su-85m04.jpg He's got it painted as a saw.
Don't know if you've seen this reference site

It's definately a two man saw. Used to cut tree trunks for use as unditching beams and to cut firewood etc.
The blade is steel, a dark metalcote from Humbrol would do as there would only be a bit of the blade polished. The handles are hard wood - mahogany or similar. It sits in an piece of angle iron welded to the hull and painted in the basic colour.

yeap it;'s a big saw, that i ve seen in many tanks and armored vehicles especially when they operated in forest areas, but on the same type of vehicle that operated in an other area that was not tool of first use you dont see it on photos always.
