Hey all,
I need some help with painting American Woodland BDU's, Universal Camo Pattern of recent, and desert MARPAT. In particular I'm looking for what paints to use, specifically Vallejo but what ever works. I did a search and came up with a tutorial , which is good, but would like more options. Thanks in advance.

For woodland BDU's in the 80's and early 90's using Tamiya paints the pattern is:
XF-1 (Black) usually mixed with a touch of Buff or white to soften it for scale; XF-5 (Flat Green) for the base green, again softened for scale; XF-49 (2) + XF-59 (2) + XF-2 (1) for the Khaki colour; and XF-64 for the Brown. I have used this basic formula for a long time, and usually play with the colours to make it correct for scale and weathering. I can also give you the old desert BDU (chocolate chip) if you need them too. As far as the late 90's to present I am as yet, no help. Sorry. Cheers.

Something you may want to consider is using one of the following patterns. Scale them to size using a picture editing program and print them on white decal paper. Use decal solvent(vinegar or clear piece glue works great) and apply them to the figure. This will save a lot of eye strain.
Hope this helps.
