I just picked this old chestnut of a over 30 years kit up again at the local hobby shop. Uffda! Has it been this long?

It seams this is the Panzer 2 type most common in the 15th Panzers DAK.
Which is the one I wish to model. I would like to hear a concensis on how to update this little 'ol bugger.

I know at one time there was a Eduard set for fenders.
Are there after markets for updates be it resin, PE, suspension, tracks and turent that can update the kit to Ausf F or G?

It may be the best bet to use the kit only as a study model and make the conversion onto a 21st century made Tamiya A/B/C or a DML Ausf B into the F / G. If someone has done that and wrote it up...I would like to hear about it.

Well first of all it's not a G just an F. The basic kit is old but still passable. Keep in mind that Dragon markets an F and after buying all the stuff to bring the old Tamiya kit up to snuff you could have purchased 2 of the Dragon kits. With that in mind you can start by replacing the tracks and there are plenty of after market tracks sets out there that will work. Eduard did make a P.E. set for this kit that can still be found. Replace both gun barrels. Replace the tow cable. I have heard of people buying the suspension sprue from the Tamiya Wespe kit to use the wheels, idlers and sprocket on this kit. That should pretty much do it. Have fun.

Good clues Roy!
I'm bailing on the notion using the the Tamiya kit
I found my next Pz II F kit at Dragon USA...it is a "Cyberhobby" brand. About $40 bucks retail
Which still justifies why DML is still the best model company on the PLANET
