I'm building the Cyber-Hobby USMC M1A1 Abrams (Heavy Armor) which is my getting-back-into-the-hobby build and the colors provided in for an OIF tank are wrong. What is a good Model Masters paint (or ratio of MM paints) to achieve a decent looking OIF color?

I don't know what the directions call for, but Testors Model Master Sand, FS 33531, is a near-perfect match for CARC Middlestone, the curent US military sand color.

The colors specified in the instructions do not match the color table provided. For example, it says to use color "27/44"; however, when I look at the color table, there is no "27/44". This is true for all of the colors on the Painting and Markings page. The colors are correct for things like the interior parts in the assembly instructions. Frustrating.

Howdy Bob, I just checked the instructions on line and you are correct, the paint chart is fuzzy. If doing a Sand colored hog go with Gino's MM color recommendation. Happy USMC modeling!
