Would that even work? The gun looks like it would need one hell of a counter weight and there is no room for it.

It works, on paper at least .....
Maybe a prototype was actually made (real steel) but I don't think
it ever went any further than that.
Firing that gun from such a light chassis must have been something
of an experience, recoil movement will reduce the stresses on the chassis
but there isn't much room for recoil in that turret ....

There are a few of these (similar like) but this model is the best looking in my opinion.

Would be great for a campaign someday!

That's what equilibrators (metal or gas springs, usually) are for. However, they need room too . . .

I like the Pak 44 (128MM) version too. Need to get both of them to set side-by-side.

Wow, the Germans were certaintly into Huge guns at the end of the war.

All the effort that was wasted in these wonder weapons that could have been better spend producing Panthers and King Tigers
