Hello,
I'm building a Tamiya M60A1 kit and am wondering if any there was any application of anti skid coatings to turret or hull. I've seen some images that suggest there's something on the engine cover (it might be the graininess of the photographs since they were film and scanned) but haven't seen decent images of the turret or the front of the hull.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Mark

Mark,
I have pictures of one of the USMC "monument" M60A1 tanks that was in front of the USMC Tank Detachment at Fort Knox Kentucky and it had anti-slip applied to: the engine deck tops of the air cleaners, sponson box lids and both the front as well as rear fenders. There was no anti-slip on the top of the turret. The specific pictures were taken in 2007.
I will defer to Mike Mummey, retired USMC Tanker Extraordinaire with his first hand experiences as he served on M60A1s during OPERATION DESERT STORM.
