Modifying figures is quite easy. To bend knees or elbows, make a cut on the oustide of the joints and gouch the inside of them. Fill with epoxy putty or thinned putty, once bent to the desired angle. Use the same technique on the waist, fingers, neck. I would suggest using a sharp hobby knife to make the cuts and a saw to make the gouge. You can use a file to open a mouth and make a slice along the floating edge of pockets.

Hi Justin. Cutting V wedges out of both sides allows you to alter the pose/angle slightly. Its quite easy to fill in the Vs again with putty and using the surrounding details, easily form the missing bits/details.
To increase the manipulation of arms and leg, you can cut away the knee, ankle, wrist and elbow joints, connect the pieces again with wire and pose as you want it. When you are satisfied with the pose and it looks realistic, fill in again with putty and re-sculpt the missing detail.
I really recommend Bill Chilstrom´s book "Converting and detailing Plastic Figures". Has to be the single best book on this subject. Great photos and easy to understand text. Spend one hour with the book, and you´ll feel like you could achieve anything. As close to a 10/10 book as it gets!!!!
