Hi, I'd like to know what went wrong with my paint job. tried to do a chipping effect using a combo hairspray/salt method and this is how it turned out. even with 2 coats of white down it is still blotchy around where the salt use. Did i do something wrong?

Was the hairspray left to cure? Either way due to the purpose of this method I cannot see it causing you any issues.

its because the salt started to disolve when it met with the wet hairspray. you are probably gonna have to do a couple more passes with white.

For me, I have never heard of using both methods at the same time. I have either used one or the other. Did you seal the salt with an enamel coat first, if you used acrylic, it could of disolved the salt too.

I think it actually looks kind of cool!!!!
give it a scrub and see what comes off, then hit it with clear flat and call it a happy accident!!

I too have never heard of using both at the same time. I don't see where you have scrubbed away any hairspray, either. I agree with the other guys, before you do the Windex dip, scrub some of the white - over - hairspray off and see how it looks.
