I have the 1/35 scale DUKW by Italeri and I noticed that Verlinden has an update kit. The photo shows exterior parts. The engine hatch is open and a part view of an engine. The description does not indicate that the engine is included. Is it? If not, were can I find one?

I don't know if the engine is included in this set, but I guess you could use the GMC engine from the same manufacturer if need be...

EDIT : Marcel's suggestion is much better

You could always scratch one.

I used a rectangle for the block, then added left over engine parts and plumbing to flesh it out. I also used a left over fan and vac-formed the fan shroud. I added a battery and bits and bobs for different switches and boxes, then plumbed them as well. It really wasn't that hard to do.

If you wanted to go all-plastic, you could take the engine parts from either the Tamiya or Heller CCKW trucks, since the DUKW used the same engine.

If anyone out there has chosen to replace the standard Italeri DUKW tires with the available resin ones I would sure like to get those seven original tires from you.
