Aloha everyone!

I'm looking into making a "what if" scene depicting a war ravaged street somewhere on the outskirts of a western european country. As there are few if any modern buildings on the market could I get away with a WWII farm or village ruin?

Thank you in advance!

Kurt

Why not ????? After all, not every pre ww1 or ww2 building was totally wiped from the earth by those wars !!!!!!!!!!! Lots of buildings were lucky to avoid the ravages of war !!!!!!!!!! Plus, many war damaged buildings were totally repaired or even rebuilt to previous designs !!!!!!!!!!!

Any period building has the possibility to be set in a modern context by the addition of some more modern features being added to interior or exterior to put the period into context.

Period houses can even have a mix of period furniture and more modern furniture to reflect the owner's taste (and dependent on what furniture you can make or buy).

Have a google for pictures from a country of your choice and then see what buildings are on the market and match the closest to suit. Also google pictures of street furniture, lamp posts, telephone boxes or the like for the same country to see what you might want to add outside.

Anything goes internally for furniture and the like internally.

Hope that helps.

Even in heavily bombed cities like Cologne a lot of old buildings still stand. Some buildings from the „famous" Panter vs Patton battle are still around and rows of old houses are around in Ehrenfeld and Hürth. 0thers are rebuild (Frankfurt Römer) or survived (Münster) I served in WW1 Barracs in Euskirchen and 0snabrucks imperial era barracs are now a university
