i apologize for the lack of a better term for the topic.

I came up with a thought the other day that may or may not be feasible.
i have been milling it over for a while as to how a collective thought between members of this site could have their ideas all expressed on one kit. i wanted to start a kit that i would get feed back on as to "what should i do next" type of thing and build it completely based off of the thoughts of the members.
But, then i though, what better way to do this than to have everyone contribute physically in one way or another to see the outcome.
one person would purchase/supply a kit and would subsequently own it once its complete. the kit build would be based on a collective set of requirements to avoid someone going sci fi on it or whatever the case may be.
the kit would get sent from participant to participant with each person doing their part to complete the kit adding notes of what they had done or added. each person would get it for a set timeframe and do their a small portion all the way from parts on sprues to final product before sending it to the next person on the list
i think it would be fun to see what would come of it and would be a "trophy" of sorts as to the creativity and skill of the members of this website

obviously, money to send it from person to person is going to be a main factor for people as well as time material.
any thoughts welcome

This is very unconventional and highly intriguing, although it is certainly not for everyone.

Needless to say some careful thought and dedication needs to be put in this one.

*edit: Synergy seems a more appropriate term, just my .02 cents

I'm not sure this will fly as a campaign. All it takes is for one person to lose interest or get busy with Real Life and the people working on that kit are screwed. Then there are things like getting lost or damaged in the mail. Would people be willing to pack the kit well and pay the postage to send a kit from the US to Singapore or Egypt to Brazil?

Hello Jesse,
I have just read this and I think it could work
You should maybe think about the following as Gary has a good point about shipping the kit around the world.
Why not put your idea into action, but do it covering continents:
A northern US build
A European build
An Australian / New Zealand
An Asian build
Or just go Countries:
US
Brit
German
French
.......
That way you might call in enough people to play, and another thought, maybe use the same base kits everywhere. I say "base kits" because you could also choose WWII, 60's conflicts, Gulf war, with that you have 3 different time frames and more players.

I would certainly like to take part in this real "group build", maybe it will catch on.

Yes John I noticed that, but I have only been year and a half, and it took me nearly 12 months to work my way around here and the computer I bought at the end of 2011 . Yes I'm slow at some things but not at others

But that does that mean there's still no more players out there to take part
