Great job. My kind of weathering. I recommend thinking about adding some largish faint oil/diesel stains so common to these machines. Otherwise, I like this a lot.

Looks great Gary.

+1 on the weathering job too. I see so many builds that are weathered as if the vehicle has been sitting in a paddock for 30years but yours has the look of a well maintained machine that has seen a lot of use.

I disagree with your choice of green, but that is an old argument. Looks great. The weathering is very well done. I have an observation on your tarp. It would more likely be a earth tone, so as not to present the enemy with a target. I love Russian vehicles. Purpose built without all the bells and whistles.

Hi all,

Thank you for all your comments gentlemen. Hi matt, this is my first russian build and i basicly tried to match the color of the box art. wasnt sure if it was accurate or not but base on seeing other builds i think its close enough. im going to build an Su100 early next year. what would be a more apropriate color? it will be basic russian WWII. Thx again!

Hi Gary

It looks amazing!

Is it the DML kit or the AFV?

I like a lot the weathering and the paint job

Cheers

Great build, and great color! Much closer to a real one than all those models painted into shades of Tinkerbell dress.
Thanks for sharing!

Nice build Gary. I like the subtle weathering also ... all it needs now is some signs of life and/or a little colour contrast, to perfect it!!
Have you any further plans for figures or base?

Hi Alex and Frank,

Thank you gentlemen for the kind words. Frank i want to do something with a simple base with maybe a tank commander and 1 crew member. probably something resembling the kursk area. im going to renew my StuH 42 build first before doing the ground work and figures for the T-34. Thx again!

I really like that you chose a very basic and generic scheme for this one. Could you imagine being a German on the Eastern Front and rolling into a field with hundreds of T-34's that looked just like this one with no discernible markings? That would be extremely disorienting to say the least!
Your weathering seems appropriate for a well used machine with a short lifespan. I hope you have an equally generic Sherman to park this one next to in the display case

Hi Jeremy,

Jeremy you pretty much read my mind about the look i was trying to acomplish. i could imagine there being thousands of T34s streaming from factory to the front strait into battle with paint and riggings and no markings and didnt look like it had been in a crash up derby but had seen plenty of combat. and yes i do have a sherman to sit by it in the case however its not generic. its the old tamiya 105mm houston kid. but i did alot of photoetch and scratch building on it but its not nearly as dirty as the T34.
Thanks alot for your remarks man! that makes me feel like i sucseeded in my objective.

Gary
