JERRV first, second I can't think of a single EOD team in their right mind who would use an M-ATV. I only ever saw JERRV's (6X Cougars) and occasionally RG-31's.

I'm not EOD, but my team has been digging up stuff like this since '02. Some guys have the whole chronological photo file of this event on my CD. At any rate, those pesky fuzes were hard to get off sometimes, so we just made sure to store them upright in buckets. I had no qualms about carrying them in the back of the 1151. If I ever use a M-ATV I would think the same would apply.
