I’m working on the above figures at the moment.
Bit of flash which is not hard to clean up. They go together well, detail is a little soft, but I think they look quite good. Head detail is good with resonably well sculptured features, chin straps are included. I think the stance of the figures looks natural.
I have been comparing them with the equivalivant Trumpeter set of figures and the last set of modern figures produced by Masterbox. I believe they are much superior in both instances.
Obviously not up to the standard of some of the resin figures such as Legend & Black Dog but for £9 they are excellent value.
I think a good paint job will enhance the detail so I'm looking information on how to paint them in today’s modern US colour schemes. How do I create shadow along uniform fold lines etc? Any advice would be great.

I'm interested in these figures as well. I'll be watching this thread.
To paint ACUs (Army Combat Uniform) in the current Universal Cammo Pattern (UCP, its not called ARPAT), here is a tutorial.
For shadows, you can do a simple wash in a dirty drown color. It is pretty effective.

Hey Cookie,
I have painstakenly attepted digital camo, from using pins, toothpicks and cut down tooth brushes. Some good, some not so good.
Most of the tutorials are on much larger scale figures.Try this post,Painting Desert USMC MARPAT by: Pete Beccera, Jr.
He uses a very simple painting guide and with a little practice works well.It caught my eye at first because he says after painting 120mm figures with it he found that the square edges in 1/35 wouldn't be really be visible.I just finished a figure last night his way and I'm happy with it.

these figures are really nice I had some left over heads with sunglasses and I am planning to give one of the guys a metal detector......love the helmet detail.....and with a burned umber wash I brought out most of the face detail.

Hi Paul,
I just replied to your other post on photos. As I said there I now use Photobucket and life is much easier. You just download your photos to it,then when you want to put them in your post open the photo and it will give you a small menu underneath.Click the URL and it will copy.Paste that to your post.To get the photo here.Or If I recall you can post on "New Topic" and Armorama asks at the top what group to post in.

I havent seen an Army unit using the Original M249 stock since before 2000. Even my guard unit had either the full plastic stock or the collapsible version in 2004. I did see a Marine in Kuwait in 2005 with a stock original 80's SAW, fixed carry handle, no heat guard, cone type flash suppressor, skeleton stock.
Has anyone tried those ACU Decals off the Tasca site?

I don't know if these are the same ones on Tasca's site, but Mario tried the Alliance Modelworks ones and they look horrible. They didn't settle down at all for him.

I realise that the weapons with the kit are not up to the latest specification . I intend to use trumpeter weapons with the figures. I have the decal from the trumpeter figures and have seen a tread on this site about using a similar system.
Point i would like clarified, is how do you create shadow and highlight on the figure with this decal.
