Looks great - what Period/Area of Operation are you going to model it for?

During the fall, Eastern Front. Maybe 1943 or maybe 1944. I am thinking about putting it in 3rd SS Totenkopf markings, and making a small dio out of it.
Maybe, Maybe not. Who knows,
~Chip
Thanks guys!

Nice job Chip. I'm not a big fan of German stuff but there is just something about the 88. I have a game called Steel Panthers, it's free download. The sound the 88s make when they fire is something special. I'm sure the game designers did it that way on purpose.
I've got this kit in my stash waiting for my skills to improve. I had it many moons ago when it first came out and I remember how impressed everybody was with this kit. It seems to have held up over the years very well. Isn't it funny though how the instructions show how to paint both Werhmact and Luftwaffe crews, including all the differences between the uniforms, but they only include Werhmact?

Actually I have no idea what I am going to tow it behind. Sdkfz. 251?
Thanks you guys. I will probably have it finished sometime early this week. Weathered and all.
Thanks again, I am glad that you like it.

Chip, I don't think the 251 could tow an 88. That woud be a good tow vehicle for your Pak 40 though.

A 251 definatly would not tow a 88mm(waits for the pic to prove him wrong
You could try and find the Tamiya half track that did tow it, the SdKfz 8Ton half track. I know it is out of production, but i recently found one and have heard they are available again, nice 88mm, should look even better when you have it weathered

I saw a Tamiya 8 ton half track last time I was at the hobby shop. It was a pre owned deal, and it was old, and $55. Is that a good deal. If it is I will get a job and start saving!
