I'm not qualified to speak about accuracy and all that... but I think it looks like it'll be a nice, and welcome kit.

It looks very good to me, certainly better than the older zvezda kits.

It already looks better than anything out there, save the pricey resin conversion kits. It looks like Zvezda is really refining their kit's crispness and detail. I've been skeptical of their kits because my only personal experience is with their older kits which obviously weren't the best out there. However that said, Dragon went through the same stage in their early years and look at how far they've come. I wonder if the plastic on the new Zvezda kits has improved in quality, or if it is still soft. Has anyone here had any personal experience working with the newer kits?

Nooooooooooo

My Miniarm stuff just became worthless!
Seriously though, it looks quite good. The Its nice to see the T-90A turret, but the early T-90 turret would have carried some better possibilities for other T-72 models. The details look ok, and it certainly seems to feature some smaller details absent from the Tamiya kit. The detail on the sponsons looks a little weak and I don't like the look of the way they tackled this section either. Anti-radiation cladding looks a bit weak as well. Of course if this is a test shot then the finished article might end up different. They got the engine deck correct though which is a good thing.
This will please a lot of people i'm sure.

Zvezda has been rapidl;y improving, at least with their aircraft kits, and last year they hit a home run with their Bf 109F release, hitting the all-time best/most accurate '109 kit ever mark (tho some complained it was over-engineered), which is quite a feat considering they are up against big names like Hasegawa and Tamiya when it comes to '109s.
BTW, the plastic is still a tad soft (at least on their excellent La-5 kit), but way above the quality of the material they used to have.
In general, I would say this is a promising release

Jim
it is such an honor to be on the your site. I have admired and enjoyed all the info you supply us. I want a lot of the T-90s. Can hardly wait to get one. I wanr you to know that my grand daughter gave me the name of Crabby Asian Grandpa when I was work on a model and things weren't working out. I am a veteran from 1963-1966 stationed in Germany at the time. Eurpoe has a special place in my heart. Bring the T-90 on, I am ready to build. It is so nice to be retired. Fred Lue

looove that crayzee turret!!
I don't buy models to stash them, I'd rather build 'em. So I don't have a huge stash. I don't count rivets, and I can appreciate the spirit of What-if-'46 campaigns. Mostly 1/35 ground militaria, my preferred topic. But I dabble. 1/48 B29 coming up s

I heard that their Bf 109F was an excellent kit and gave the builder quite a few interesting display options by including details such as the engine. I should probably have a look at one of those kits or even the La-5 to see how things have changed. Thanks for your input

This is great news indeed, thank you Zevzda.
The quality looks on par with most anything currently on the market, winner for sure.
cheers

Nice. One thing I hope they have improved are their boxes. I have a few of their earlier releases sitting on the shelves and they down right suck. I've seen firmer pieces of notebook paper.

Seriously though, looks promising. I'm no SME on the T-90, but I like what I see. Thank you Zvezda. "Q"
