Hi May, you've been doing a nice job so far, done on a model kit which is not the best
It's the first time that i've seen a blanking pen used as a putty
Would you explain your method?
Thanks in advance
Cheers

Ah yes. Why I use blanking pen as putty?

In my forum in Vietnam they told me that the blanking pen is just like liquid putty, but it needs less time to dry. The blanking pen is only for small holes and splits.

Interesting indeed!
Can I sand it down whith any problems?
Should I use it also to replicate weld seams?
Thanks a million. You should write here on the site a tutorial about in my opinion

While I was waiting for your answer, I tried on a spare part.
Well I think is quite good fto fill scratches. I've notice that you can sand it down quite easily with a cotton swab wet with Tamiya lacquer thinner.
It seems to me that It doesn't work to replicate weld seems because the blanket doesn't grip on smooth plastic surfaces
I think I'll use your tip.
Many thanks to you
cheers

It looks like the front idler wheels are on crooked, that will make the track not fit. Perhaps if you remove them and fix them in straight ahead position the track will fit.

I agree, you must have some problems with the idler wheel especially that on the right side
Anyway you can easily fix it.
That's a very nice job!

Nope, not a problem with the wheel alignment. The tracks are just a tad too long. I have the same kit put out by someone else with a cast resin turret and aluminum barrel. Same problem. I spent a month futzing about trying to get them to fit, and finally got the port side on but with a huge sag off the front idler and lots of sag across the top between the road wheels. I gave up, and only just now got my interest rekindled in it by playing with one in World of Tanks. The fit is still the pits.

I'm debating on getting the metal tracks for it. Or I may just leave the one side on and do a diorama of them repairing the other side.

Thanks for the pictures. I've seen this one in the hobby shop pretty cheap. Passed on it several times, but after seeing this. Doesn't look that bad. It'll go nicely with my Eastern Express BT-7A.

I have had the same problem with the tracks. They are just a tad too long. Can't take out a link, too short. i was thinking about adjusting the idler but gave up. Metal tracks? Maybe.

Huy, looking at your BT-5, I see you did a lot of seam filling. I think you will save much work and get a better model if you work at carefully fitting the parts together before cementing them. It is easier to fit the pieces and sand or scrape them a little several times than it is to fill and sand even once.

Quick question. Did you have any trouble with the parts at the front of the tank? Where you attach the idlers. The supports on mine were really crooked and have huge gaps.

Hi Huy,
Is it possible the guide horns are too high? You could reduce their height a little by sanding etc...
This is the part that sticks up on the tracks...
Paul
PS Now that I look again, I doubt that is the issue...

Hi all, could you not just put the tracks on top of the fenders? Could it not travel on just its wheels? That is what I'll be doing with mine. Just to be diffrent. Anyway good luck and have fun. Rick

The two center wheels are too high. Neither of them are touching the ground. Adjusting the tracks may alleviate the problem.
