I'm currently building the above modeal. Quite a fun build so far, but now I'm at the horses reigns. Does anyone have any advice on this? I'm scared to botch it. I'm thinking someone may have used different material other than the plastic card included with the model. Maybe masking tape would be more flexible and easier to use?
Any help would be appreciated
As always, Thanks in advance!

I have to agree with Cdave. Lead foil would be the way to go. If you don't have access to lead foil, you could also use the aluminum from a soda can, or masking tape as well. Good luck, and be sure to post your progress. I'd be interested in seeing it.

I have this on my "to do" list as well. I have placed two of those foil pie dishes in the box for when Im ready to use. This stuff is excellent ...... very flexible ... good memory ... easy to work with and takes paint well! Wash first as the food may have been greasy! I also have a set of of PE belts and ties from an accurate armor set that i will use to add some finer detail to the reigns.
I have the academy and tamiya versions... the academy has sticky back strips to use! I have kept them only to use as templates!

You could also try notebook paper, or printer paper. Cut it to size, superglue it, then paint!
