Hi everyone; Well after building Tamiya, Trump and may others over the years I have never built a TASCA kit...........Until now. I was amazed at the detail of this little Pz when looking at all the sprues. I have had it in the stash for so long I figured it was now time to dig in and have at it.

First the tub:

The lower hull went together like a dream and then it was road wheel time. These too went together with no problems and virtually no cleanup was needed:

next was the working torsion bar suspension. Its nice that it is workable but once the wheels are in place I will have them glued into position.

Next work on the upper hull began:

Working in some fiddly bits that are on the upper hull and I am in the beginning stages of getting the turret assembled as well. More to follow and thanks for taking a look.

Tom - thanks and paint is soon to follow

Frank - thank you

Well what little PE there is I had to break out the new Brass Assist Roller Set from The Small Shop here in the US. Wonderful tool for bending round, half round and making grab handles and such.

when you flip it over there is a semi soft pad called the "soft rolling deck" . In this case this is what I used for the grill covers:

Placed the flat PE part on the tool:

Chose the correct size roller and set ontop:

gently roll back and forth a couple of times:

and BAM!!!!!!! a perfect PE part and fit:

still working on the turret and some other little bits, more shots to follow.

moving along;

wiring added to the front lights:

Turret completed:

Had to fix the antenna because it sat to far down into its housing.

final stage and everything is laid out for painting:

next will be the finished shots

One word of warning. Be very careful if you apply an oil wash, I did on mine and it made all the axles etc extremely brittle and prone to breaking even though I used a low odor thinners. Apart from that, its an awesome kit.

Bob... looks like a good start you have going there.

I have to say thought that I am very unhappy with you. Why did you post a pic of that new PE rolling thing. Now i HAVE TO go spend more money

Hi Bob, good build so far. The Tasca kit is a peach, easily their best (far better than those dirty Shermans they keep putting out! )

Just a couple of pointers on the build so far, and sorry to piss on your parade, but Tasca got the antenna pot 100% spot on, the height of the ceramic insulator and rubber antenna boot is correct in the kit.
Here's a shot of the real thing, note how the rubber boot sits just at the top of the pot, not proud of it:

Also, your side bins, you have them mounted the wrong way around - they're top opening bins, not side opening bins as you have them. The X stamping should be on the outside, not the top.

Hope this helps. Don't hesitate to ask if you need any more shots of the real thing.
