Hi,
Can anybody tell me where I might be able to pick up a 1/35th metal exhaust for a Panther Ausf G made by Moskit, please?
Thanks.
Joe.

Joe, as far as I know Moskit is out of business and has been for a while.
Probably your only hope would be if anyone has some in their stash they'd be willing to part with.

Most Moskit stuff I've seen in the UK was discounted ages ago, I think it didn't sell as well as had been hoped.

Yeah, that's what I thought, fellas.
Okay, I'll keep searching.
Thanks anyway.

They were lovely items .... I have a few sets I bought after they stopped business. I never really heard why they stopped, but if it was because sales didnīt match their expectations, they might have stopped too early? Their name had just started to circulate and feature often in mags etc. .... which lead me to buy a few sets. If they were still available, Iīd buy more!!
Considering the amount of poor AM available and stuff that doesnīt give much extra, these would have caught on. They could have been up there with replacement barrels ... not 100% necessary, but look great and are a real time saver. Its not the biggest job in the world to thin out the plastic exhausts, but its sure nice when you stick them in after painting, already rusted perfectly and super thin.

Roger that Frank. I would put them up there in the "best of" category for AM stuff. Just gorgeous. Wish I had more of them.

The word that I got from "Rumor Control" was that the manufacturing process was horribly dangerous and environmentally disasterous...
It involved chemically thinning the metal in acid baths, and presumably the heavy metal waste was simply flushed down the drain.
My assumption was that the business was shut down, perhaps as part of a larger crack down on industrial polution in Eastern Europe.
FWIW, that's what I heard...
Too bad too. The exhausts that I've seen used on models were very nice looking, but I never got any before they became unavailable...

Hey,
It's a shame they are no longer available, but if the process of creating them was that hazardous, especially to the environment, then I guess shutting down production was necessary... maybe someone will figure out a new, less toxic process to create similar exhaust pipes like Moskit in the future? That'd be great.

Hi
I heard the business closed not through lack of sales or any of the other reasons stated.
As I understand it the guy who made these, the owner of the company, I gather it was a one-man-band, died without anybody else knowing the process of manufacturer.
