Hi all,
I just recently saw some pictures of the new German IFV, the Puma. I also understand it is in the mix for the new US IFV too? Anyhow, was wondering if anyone has heard about a kit of it being released?
Thanks.

Hi John,
the German Bundeswehr would be glad to know when the REAL Puma will be ready for service. I think it is scheduled for 2013. Maybe we will see a Puma in 2014 from Revell Germany, but I wouldn`t hold my breath....
The Bundeswehr is glad right now to get their GTK Boxer WAPC running.

Hans-Hermann,
Thanks for the quick reply. I just Googled the Boxer. That looks quite a lot like both the Stryker and the Japanese Type 96 WAPC, doesn't it.
How is it supposed to compare to those two?
Thanks again and cheers,
john

Hi John,
first of all, the Boxer is HUGE. And it´s is state of the art in protection. Because it was first fielded in 2010, the industry still work on iron out some minor flaws.
And the Revell kit is also great, too.

Hi John,
I just herad rumors that Revell contacted the manufacturer of the Schützenpanzer Puma for assistance in making a model kit. I am not sure when the real Puma will be fielded but I guess we can expect a model just in time.

Hans-Hermann,
Meant to respond earlier, but work and such helped me forget. Sorry!
That kit will be really looked for by me! The Puma is a real cool looking IFV.
BTW, based on yours and others recommendations, I went out and got the Revell Boxer. You are right. Big kit and it looks like it will be fun.
Thanks again and Merry Christmas.
Cheers,
John

Hi John,
the model from MR Models despicts one of the prototypes, noticable by the 5 roadwheels. The production model has 6 roadwheels and some modifications in the turret.

Hi John,
Happy New Year.
Over on a German forum, someone said that Revell plans to relaese the SchPz. Puma for 2012. Faster than I expected, but I need confirmation for this.

Hi Robert,
2 Puma have been delivered to the Bundeswehr last year, they are advanced prototypes, which go for arctic testing to Norway.
But as with the Boxer, it`s highly likely that the serial vehicles will differ from the Revell kit, maybe only in minor respects. Only time will tell.

Hans-Hermann,
Thanks for keeping us up to date on this! Hopefully you are right and it won't be super far off the production examples.

Hi John,
Revell is developing the Puma in cooperation with PSM (P uma S ystem M anagement - a joint venture of Krauss-Maffei Wegmann and Rheinmetall). I guess there are some simplifications due to OPSEC reasons. If you consider that the Pumna shall be fielded in 2013, then they are just-in-time. On Jan. 9 two vehicles have been shipped to Norway for arctic testing. More informations on:
