I don't know what they're hinting at - but I'd bet one line might be pre-painted or even pre-assembled 1:35th scale subjects. Something like the 21st Century toys you can buy.

Yeah, but it will still be the same German stuff.

When tamiya released their T55 they stole back the crown from dragon. Now trumpeter have muscled in on the act and left them sitting, with their Leopold. Even tristar have challenged them with their excellent figures. In the meantime dragon have recieved alot of "poor" press with their recent offerings. Hopefully they release something to stand their ground. I for one wouldn´t be impressed with the release of already built up and painted models. For me, thats a different ball-game.

I agree with that. I'm seeing more and more of the pre finished stuff, even here in the frozen North. The bad thing is that it's taking up some of the limited shelf space for kits. I hope they have something to blow our socks off. It will be interesting to see.

I saw their announcement a little while ago too.
With the headline reading "Attention Military Modellers", I just don't think they could be talking about the pre-built/painted ones. Afterall, why would modelers want that?
I await with baited breath.

Hopefully something NEW! And Modern (personal preference). Maybe (I doubt it) it could be kits that round out the modern scene- Civilian Vehicles!
And if nothing else, you have got to give them credit for creating a BUZZ! Here we are talking, wondering, etc!

The owner of DML, first and foremost, is/ was a toy maker. That's how he got started and became rich, according to the Hong Kong newspapers. So action figures, diecast, and/ or prepainted isn't too far-fetched for him since he used to design and make toys in his garage.
Then again, DML could go the "high tech" route with PE and white metal like Hasewaga planes. That's a new style. Mixing electronics with plastic models (motorization, turret spins, gun elevates, sound FX, etc. doesn't seem unreasonable for DML either. Even SNAP kits and PRO-MODELER brand like Revell did: Skill Levels 1,2,3).
As for a new modern kit line, the only ones I can think of are softskin FAVs from all over the world or motorbikes....these areas haven't been touched yet. Or maybe an entire nation's AFVs like the PLA, Russia, South Africa, IDF, or all the Self-Propelled Artillery of the world.
I doubt DML will mix resin with plastic like Hasewaga does with planes, but who knows ?

Hi. I was also looking at the Dragon site and see that they are going to come out with the Panther Ausf. G (early) so that will continue this line of Panthers that started with the Ausf D. Also the Strumtiger and a new M1A1 Abrams from the latest war in the Middle East. So these three are definitely going to be welcomed by armor builders.
I agree with PlasticBattle that they do need to do something pretty great to re-gain their status. Let's just hope that whatever it is, they have firred the person(s) responsible for those nasty instruction mistakes that seems to be a somewhat common happening with Dragon lately.
And like halfyank, I think some kind of nice new Allied AFV variant would be a welcomed change from the mostly German stuff they've been dealing with for so long. Something really outstanding.
Take care, sgirty

Check the Military Hobbies website. They have announced prepainted Dragon German Winter Combat figures as being new. Not sure if this is the big announcement, but if it is, I am not interested in them at all.

unless as stated on other sites if they are releasing a kit that tamyia has done before they may keep it quiet so that tamyia dont release their older kit the release of the t-34 range this year seemed to concide with the anouncments that dragon were going to be doing them
maybe a way to keep the edge over mr T

Apologies to Dave for my earlier remarks (since deleted). I did not put 2 + 2 together and totally misunderstood his post.

Guys,
Jim has an appoligy????? For what??? " I came here for an arguement......." (no, this is an old Monty Python pun here.....)
What I mean here for any announcements at this Hobby Vissions convention is that as a moderator over at WW2ModelMaker is that I have "PRIVATE" phone numbers. I do not have means of getting any words updated here until I get home. But, as I can call one of the other moderators at WW2MM, they can post in my name.
This was meant as no offense to Armorama.com or any of the staff/owners or visitors here. Just a means of telling ya'll where to get some good info.
So I stand here, drinking a pint And waiting to have that arguement. Oh well, lets talk politics instead! #:-)

Thanks Dave. I blame it all on the zany California election day we are having. #:-)
If you end up going to LV I hope you have a great time. I checked out the web site and it looks like a first rate affair. All the biggies will be there. Who know someday maybe I will get the chance to cover the event for Armorama. Or at minimum we could pay the entry fee for someone to go and cover the event for us.
Take lots of pictures!
Cheers,
Jim

Jim,
California Politics - Something that the natial new pundits love and hate. But of course, we live in it.
Well, to be honest, after a post of info at WW2ModelMaker I am planing on coming over here with the same posting/pictures. But then again, if I do not make the trip or there is no informaiton, then jsut a short note.
But, I think I need a bit of a road trip to think out some other personal issues and a break from this Recall/ Schwarzenegger politics right now. But then again, I am for both......

My guess is two new tanks...catalog No's 6126 and 6133. Just checked their website and these two spaces are listed as "new tank" w/o any image as of yet. Probably German.
Which means i won't be building it...cause ima U.S. builder and the German stuff is just too sexy for me.
