There's this set by DEF Model.. still not released, though

http://blog.naver.com/PostThumbnailView.nhn?blogId=tech61&logNo=90129646029&categoryNo=31&parentCategoryNo=

And this set by Djiti's Production

http://blog.naver.com/PostThumbnailView.nhn?blogId=tech61&logNo=90126869099&categoryNo=31&parentCategoryNo=l

Are the Djiti wheels just copies of the kit's wheels? Can't really tell.. but it's good to have a couple of resin options

DEF wheels look good! Nice tread pattern... I have some of DEF wheel sets and they are really wonderful. I must admit I prefer those to Djiti.

Thanks for the info Hisham.

They have different rims...

The first link looks like an alloy rim, while the second may be a stamped steel wheel?

*edit* Just re-read the 1st post, not sure if they are the kits wheels copied.

Wheels looks good.
Resin wheels began to produce because the vinyl wheels and cracked very badly painted. There is nothing wrong with improving and cast wheels from a kit, if it helps modelers.

The kit wheels are just the plastic wheel covers over a steel wheel. They are pretty nice on their own.... Im wondering if they used Humvee wheels and rims on these ever??? I thought 18Brvo said hed seen some in theatre with them in A-Stan.

Only problem with DEF products is that they're difficult to find. Luckymodel and Hobbyeasy both carry them.. but don't restock them often enough. Any of you guys know an online store that stocks DEF stuff regularly?

That's good news, and their products are great... but the important thing is being able to actually get them

There are resin wheels for the US RSOV? Anyone build that kit yet and could comment on it?

Old thread revived...

I'm interested in a set of 1/35 MENG pickup resin wheels and I see that there's a few options. Which ones are the best?

There's two kinds of DEF Models ones. Is Set 2 seen more than Set 3?

https://lots-of-models.com/collections/def-model?page=2

Then there's Division Miniatures...

https://armorama.kitmaker.net/news/25679

And then there's Djiti's...

Are there any other ones that I missed? Which ones are the best or most commonly used? Are there any sagged ones?

Thanks.

Peter, DEF has five wheel/tire sets for MENG pick ups. Three of the sets are for the Hilux style truck while two are for the landcruiser style truck. All five sets have sagged tires. DW35021 and DW35044 for the Hilux style truck are more aftermarket looking while the other sets are more utilitarian. The sets are as follows,

DW35021, DW35043 and DW35044 are for the Hilux.
DW35052 and DW35052 are for the Landcruiser.

My experience with DEF is that their wheel/tire sets are cast flawlessly and are very well researched. I hope this helps.I

Regards,

Eric

I don't have those Djti wheels but from I can tell from other Djiti wheels sets I have, they shouldn't be recasts and should look great.

Cheers,

Christophe
