Mario - Thanks to you and the other staff for getting this one up so fast.
@AJB - I'm glad that you found the review informative and yes, you could build the Jeeps without the armour but mounting weapons. The Jeep book that I mention in the review had a picture of one unarmoured version mounting no less than
four Bazookas on the central pedestal. An interesting aside, from what I've read these Bazookas were meant to fire in salvo, not individually.
As to whether scale is an issue, the builder will have to be the best judge. Subtracting what should be from what exists, the wheelbase difference amounts to .020" (.5 mm). This in turn calculates out to 1.4" (36 mm) in full size.
Amusingly, I'm not yet bad enough to try to drill out a machine gun barrel in this scale (plus I don't possess a drill that small).

The barrel of the .50 Cal from the Jeep kit is bored out by the slide moulding technique that Dragon uses. I should have mentioned this and the fact that the Bazooka barrels are also bored out in the review. My apologies for that.
