This is a base I started a year ago for my Panther build.

It's fairly basic but it's my first base that's not just a flat "dirt road" spot. I should have researched more, I'm not to sure about the street bricks being placed at an angle. I think I saw some pics of Holland though that had them that way, so, perhaps this will be set during "Market Garden".
I don't have any plans for many figures on the ground, just a few in/on the Panther. I'm scratch building a lamppost that will have a LED light in it from one of those flickering fake candles you see at the craft stores. The post will be bent by the Panther in some fashion to give the lamp a reason to "flicker".

The sidewalk is made of cork with a layer of spakle over it and is the ways and means of holding the battery pack and control thingie for the lamppost. The street is plaster paris poured directly into the frame. I built up the edges of the frame with some non-harding clay first so that the street level would be above the frame a bit
.

This is the cemetary wall. I carved one brick out of plaster and made a mold out of latex rubber, the old fashoned paint-on kind. It took forever.

This is the glueing up of the rail fence to set upon the wall. It's a bit chunkier than I had invisioned but I'm going to go with it.

The lamppost top, it looks more crooked than is acually is (though it is crooked) I folded the clear plastic then cut it close to the fold to make "angle iron" then I glued it around a plaster mock op to form the frame. Then clear plastic panels cut to fit inside. The top is wood with a bead held on with a bulbous headed pin I found holding a new dress shirt together.
