Thanks

Info on the LAV-25 is scarce. The TRUE DETAIL series is pretty good, but doesn't have quite enough. There is a book out that supposedly covers the LAV and other US Armored Cars quite well...Hunnicut is the author or publisher I think! I have not seen the book but hear it is pretty good, but pricey.
I've been looking for LAV-25 info for a bit now and am not having a lot of luck.

Jim:
Hmmm, maybe I'll just build the Revell kit with the back door closed, I'm not sure how accurate that troop compartment is. I was just gonna have the door 1/2 open anyway with some misc. GI junk laying around the back.

Nate;
A couple of possible sources of info/ pieces...
Eduard has/had a photoetch LAV-25 kit that I think includes interior parts. Also, check out this site:
http://talalchouman.com/
While it is a model it IS a resource for info...This is a SCRATCHBUILT 1/16 scale LAV-25- INCREDIBLE!!
Good Luck Nate- let me know if you find any info on the LAV-25!

Well going off that kit the interior details with the Revell/Italeri kits is faily close, enough for what I want to do. I also need to go through my OIF books and see what I can find on the LAV-25 (general shots).
thanks for the heads up on the PE, though I generally stay away from that stuff and scratch build or cover it up with junk!!!!
Check AEF designs too, they have a number of LAV-25 accessorires. I'm not going to invest a whole lot in this kit, pretty much build it OOB, but I did get the AEF LAV-25 wheels, they are are on order ($12 from AEF so a heck of a lot cheaper than some other prices I have seen).
I will also use the DML US Modern Marines and US Modern Tankers set for the crew. I haven't really looked much past the running gear yet as this is one of four projects I have wandered into.....
I saw that 1/16th LAV a few weeks ago, looking at it again it is a real gem, probably one of the best jobs I have ever seen.
Thanks for the help, I'll let you know what I come across.

i also build that kit and decided to do the backdoors shut. the detail of the purchased interior is a little bit clumsy.
check that page out: http://www.1ofthefew.com/mystory1.htm
it's about Light Armored Infantry Battalion during Desert Storm.
I sure that there a very few pics of the interior. Just look under pictures.

Are these the sort of images you are looking for?
The first two were ones I was just saving in my LAV-25 refs, so I don't know the source, unfortunately. The last one (LavInt3.jpg) was sent to me by an LAV crewman who was nice enough to send me some of his personal photos from Gulf War v. 1 when he found out that I plan to build one.
Hope those help.

Thanks for the photos, that's a little different set up than I have seen in some photos that seem to show a back-to-back seat configuration. Man photos (expecially detail photos) of the LAV-25 seem really scarce.
There are however, a ton of exterior shots at this link, including shots from OIF. This entire site looks like a pretty good resource for OIF builders

Cool, I will check that site out. I looked through my other sources and stuff, but so far those are all I can find. I did get some shots of the interior of one of the Ft. Lewis (Washignton) Strykers out here at the Air Show in the Spring, but that's probably not close enough, eh. There are also herds of small children in most of the shots... so hard to see a full view in just one photo. If I come across any others of the LAV-25 I will let you know.
Take care.

Spoke too soon! I just found a couple fair to bleh photos that I took of an "LAV III APC" (per their sign) at the McChord AFB Air Show back in 2001. The couple photos that do show the troop area in back are nearly identical in arrangement to those above that I posted from my other archives. If you would like, I will put them up on a website and post them here as well, though they don't appear to be much different from those above, and they aren't nearly as well centered on the area you are interested in.

Hmmmm, very interesting.
If they're not much different tha the ones above don't go through the trouble, unless others who want to see them.

I just spent six months living in an LAV25...got some pics, e-mail me if you have any questions I can help you with. Always glad to help out a fellow modeller, especially a modern treadhead like myself.

White4Doc;
If you have any pics of the LAV-25 turret from the top I sure would appreciate them. The Italieri kit's turret hatches seem WAY too small.
Also any interior pics would be great!
Thanks!

No kidding on the hatches, try pushing a figure through there, ain't gonna happen.
I'm going to build mine with the turret buttoned up but with an exposed driver.
