Hi,
anyone tried the new (I guess) Tamiya paints:
XF-86 flat
XF - 84 dark iron
XF-85 Rubber Black
I'm especially interested in the flat lacquer. Form what I know before they had some kind of a flat agent to mix with their gloss lacquer....
Any feedback appreciated

With that number on the bottle, it wouldn't be a lacquer, but an acrylic. And since most Tamiya paint is still unavailable in the US.....likely not many have tried it. Some has started to trickle back in, but a majority of the colors still remain sold out at many suppliers.

I have the XF-85 Rubber Black and the XF-84 Dark Iron. Tried out the XF-85...I LOVE IT!!! And, it's enamel, not acrylic...come in a bottle similar in size to Testors. Awesome paint! Smoooooooth as sin....

XF-85 is indeed acrylic. This is the acrylic flat line of tamiya.
edit: their enamel line has the same designation. Talk about confusion, hayyyy.

I have at least three jars of the XF-86 clear flat and it's pretty good. The ones I have are acrylics. Of course, Tamiya seems to use the same numbering system for the enamel range (those little bottles that look like the Testors' one).
